Youth Vision Trainings

Our youth vision training program is designed to nurture the next generation of leaders and innovators. Through interactive workshops and mentorship, we empower young girls to unlock their full potential, develop a clear vision for their future, and acquire the skills necessary to turn their aspirations into reality.

In 2024, the Shallum Foundation hosted its inaugural Vision Workshop in Tamale, Ghana, gathering 130 young girls and ladies. The workshop aimed to encourage them to dream beyond their circumstances. In March 2025, the foundation held another session with 150 girls, continuing its commitment to inspiring young women. The foundation also engages these young women through virtual meetings until the next in-person event. Additionally, in 2022 and 2023, over 60 ladies benefited from workshops on cosmetic formulation and business techniques.

Training and Resource Provision in Prison Facilities

The Shallum Foundation has taken an important step in supporting the rehabilitation and successful reintegration of prisoners. In 2023, the Shallum Foundation donated 85 care packs to inmates at Nsawam Prisons and undertook the renovation of the bakery in Ghana’s largest female prison.

The bakery’s purpose is to generate internal funds and teach inmates valuable skills. Over $5,000 was raised, and the project was completed in a record time of six months. This achievement was made possible through collaboration with JOS Bakery, which provided training to the inmates and donated essential items to the bakery. The Shallum Foundation continues with yearly visits to the prison to offer encouragement and hope to the inmates.

Maternal Health Support

At our organization, we believe that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental human right. Unfortunately, many individuals and families face the devastating burden of unaffordable medical bills, which can have far-reaching consequences on their financial stability and overall well-being.

Since 2022, the Shallum Foundation has distributed over 350 birth kits and paid the hospital bills for 40 new mothers to be discharged. The hospitals impacted include Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Mamprobi Hospital, Weija Municipal Hospital, Ga North Municipal Hospital, and God Cares Community Hospital in Tamale. In 2024, the foundation received generous support from Amalena Children’s Haven, enabling the distribution of baby items to reach more mothers.

Provision of School Supplies & Fees

Our school supplies and fees program equips students in need with essential learning materials and financial assistance to cover school costs. By removing these barriers to education, we empower children to access quality learning and unlock their full potential, investing in a brighter future for our communities.

To date, we have supported over 100 students through this impactful initiative. For many families struggling with economic hardship, the cost of textbooks, uniforms, and tuition fees can be insurmountable, forcing children to forgo their education. Our program steps in to alleviate this burden, ensuring that underprivileged students have the resources they need to attend school and thrive academically.

Supporting Widows, and Orphans

Shallum Foundation recognizes the profound challenges faced by those who have experienced the loss of a spouse or parent. Widows, and orphans often find themselves in vulnerable situations, grappling with not only the emotional toll of grief but also the significant financial and social consequences that can arise in the aftermath of losing a loved one.

Since 2017, the Shallum Foundation has supported approximately 200 orphans, 200 widows, and 150 women farmers by providing school supplies, covering school fees, offering capital, and delivering business training.
